“Hippotherapy” Project for Early Childhood Children in Chiang Rai Province

The 3rd Cavalry Regiment Task Force and Sri Muang Chum Sub-district Administrative Organization agreed to make a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote activities about executive function development for early childhood children by using hippotherapy  in Mae Sai district, Chiang Rai province. The project started on November 5, 2021. Private Organization and Sri Muang Chum Sub-district Administrative Organization gave three horses to the 3rd Cavalry Regiment Task Force for use as a hippotherapy. The purposes of the project are to develop the executive function of early childhood children and create operational mechanisms to support child care. The actions are as follows: 1. Support preparation in executive function development for early childhood children by using hippotherapy. 2. Support activities in executive function development for early childhood children by using hippotherapy. 3. Support Co-operation between inside and outside network partners in executive function development for early childhood children by using hippotherapy. The importance of executive function development is advanced self-management skills which are high-level cognitive processes that involve thought, feeling, and action.  These are skills that everyone needs because they influence success in life. Humans are not born with EF skills, but they can develop by practice and develop continuously. The best time to develop EF skills is at the age of 4 to 6 because EF skills develop the most during this period. Both sectors Co-operation to support and take care of security, including follow-up and evaluation of the workshop activities in executive function development for early childhood children by using hippotherapy for further benefit. Recently, four activities were organized, and more than 340 people participated in the project. The Royal Thai Army by the 3rd Army Area would like people in the 17 northern provinces to be confident in readiness to support personnel and military equipment and integrate military capabilities in all areas on the side of the Royal Thai Army to help people in every crisis.
